Fiona & Graham’s Larmer Tree Wedding

This was my first time photographing a Larmer Tree Wedding. Its been far too long since I blogged a wedding so here we are at the start of a new wedding season. What a great place the Larmer Tree is to hold your wedding day. The beautiful tranquil setting has everything you want and is secluded and private for you and your family and friends to enjoy your special day.

I met Fiona and her bridal party at the Grovesnor Arms hotel in Shaftesbury. I was soon introduced to their tiny Ted who is a T-cup Chihuahua and was to be a special guest at their wedding. I navigated around the bridal suite capturing the excitement and soon left for the short journey to the Larmer Tree. Graham and his best man Chris were just getting suited and booted as I turned up and I met one of the wedding coordinators called Katy who was very helpful and knew this was my first time at Larmer Tree for a wedding. I have been to a few festivals there so could find my way around easily.

I had some time to check out how the venue was set up for the day. The weather was slightly overcast  but no sign of rain and the sun was coming through clouds every now and then warming the spring day up when needed. The guests were starting to fill the new pavilion ready for the ceremony as there was a bit of a chill in the air for it to be held outside. Fiona arrived arm in arm with her Dad and married Graham with little Ted taking it all in. Tears of happiness were shed and registers signed and the wedding party moved over to the lawn by the temple and singing theatre for photos, canapes and drinks.

I sneaked off with Graham and Fiona for a few minutes to get some lovely newlywed couple shots around the grounds and then safely returned them to the Pavilion for their speeches and cake cutting. As we past the Singing Theatre I couldn’t resist the chance to get them on the stage and get Graham to give his bride what is now the  ‘Larmer Tree Spin’ which some of us Wedding Photographers take from a very famous and inspired shot taken by the Master himself Kevin Wilson. The evening saw a great BBQ and The Sparks Band entertained all the guests late into the night. Graham and Fiona with the smallest of prompting couldn’t resist a lift up by their friends and team mates from their hobby as cheerleaders and despite outside and dark I was not missing this photographic opportunity. A great day that flew by and such a wonderful couple and venue.
